Common Buttons

Visit the Button Descriptions help page to view detailed descriptions of each button that appears on your screen (whether in the Button Bar at the top of the table, or in the table itself). Note: If a button is unavailable (i.e. its text appears in Gray), either the command is not applicable to the current screen, or its function has already been applied (e.g. you clicked the New button for an item that can only be added one time).

Sample command buttons

Context-Specific Buttons (that are unique to this screen, or that require additional instruction)

New - Use this button to add a course question to the table. Before Clicking the button, ensure that you choose the desired course from the drop-down list immediately to the right of the button. When this button is selected, a new course question row will appear in the table below with the data fields active and ready for editing. Note: the drop-down list displays only those courses that have been entered defined in the Employer HR - Training - Courses screen.

If your quiz has five questions, you would insert a total of 5 question rows and then edit the individual answers for each questions as needed. Each initial question will be populated with four initial answer rows (which you can add to or remove as needed).

The following section of this help page describes the various columns that can appear in the main table on this screen. If you see a column description below that does not appear on your screen, you can add the column to your view by using the Customize option under the Views button (located at the left side of the screen just above the table). Refer to the Customize View help page for more help on this feature.

Add Answer

Add Answer - Use this button to add an answer for the current question. When the button is chosen, a new sub-row will appear with its cells ready for editing. The new Answer # will increment by one, based on the highest answer number that already exists for the current question.

Each initial question you add will be populated with four initial answers. If you are creating a True/False question, you would simply delete the answer sub-rows for number 3 and 4.

Answer

Use this cell to enter the answer text. This text will appear in the final quiz exactly as written. You can enter up to 200 characters (including spaces) in this cell. If you are creating a True/False question, the text shown in each cell can be as simple as a single word: True (or False).

Answer #

Use this cell to enter the current answer's number. This number can be used to sort the answers and will also be shown when the student takes the quiz.

This checkbox allows you to specify if the current answer is to be considered the "correct" answer for its related question. If the current question has only one correct answer, then only one check box should be selected.
